Words of Wisdom from Serenity

One Firefly-related post wasn’t enough. Here’s the movie version:

“People don’t like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don’t run, don’t walk. We’re in their homes and in their heads, and we haven’t the right. We’re meddlesome.”

“Here is us, on the raggedy edge. Don’t push me, and I won’t push you.”

“You know what the definition of a hero is? Someone who gets other people killed.”

“Can’t stop the signal, Mal.”

“No more running. I aim to misbehave.”

“Shepherd once said to me, ‘If you can’t do something smart, do something right.'”

“I’m a leaf on the wind. Watch how I soar.”

[Operative] “Are you willing to die for your belief?”
[Mal] “I am.” (shoots him)
[Mal] “‘Course, that ain’t exactly plan A.”

“She’s torn up plenty, but she’ll fly true.”

“You know what the first rule of flying is?…Love. You can learn all the math in the ‘verse, but you take a boat in the air you don’t love, she’ll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells you she’s hurtin’ ‘fore she keens. Makes her a home.”

Oh my gosh…this movie. It gets me every time.
